I am an investor and an entrepreneur. I founded Ledongli, which was acquired by Alibaba. During six years of entrepreneurship, I have gone through a lot of pain and joy. I am also a product manager who loves coding, with more than ten years of experience in Google, Alibaba, and other internet companies. I strive to contribute my entrepreneurial experience and product insights to enable companies to achieve great success.

Work Experience:

• • Google From 2008 to 2011, engineer and product manager. Worked in the Beijing and California offices. Managed multiple products including Q&A communities, vertical search, and mobile advertising.
• • Ledongli From 2012 to 2018, co-founder and CEO. Ledongli was a top fitness community in China with over one million daily active users, which was acquired by Alibaba.
• • Alibaba Sports From 2018 to 2019, CTO. Led over 200 engineers and product managers.

I am Shawn. You can also call me "Shuai" , which means young marshal in Chinese. This is my real name, not a nickname. I have always been a rebellious person. When my college classmates were preparing for bank, state-owned enterprises and even civil service exams, I submitted my resume to Tencent and moved to Shenzhen, just because I thought Internet companies were fun. For the same reason, I went to the Huawei 2012 Laboratory to build a new human-computer interaction system for smart terminals. I am eager to create new things that not only bring a sense of accomplishment, but also promote technological progress. I have had the experience of leading entrepreneurship, which gave me a deeper understanding of the role of entrepreneurs, and also allowed me to find the business that suits me best. Therefore, I can really help entrepreneurs.

As an atypical technical man, privately, I like street fashion, movies, street dance, and chasing stars. I love basketball and I have been a huge fan of Kobe Bryant since I was in junior high school. I hope to be a producer in the future and be able to create great movies with excellent content.

I focus on investment opportunities in social entertainment and industrial Internet.

I graduated from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics and am a Chartered Professional Accountant in Canada. I started my career as auditor in Ernst & Young, Shanghai office. After that I worked in private equity funds and asset managers in Shanghai and Hong Kong for more than 10 years. I have experience on both deal teams and operation teams.

I enjoy challenging outdoor sports, such as snowboarding and rock climbing.

At Atypical Ventures, I am primarily responsible for financial due diligence, deal execution, finance, legal and compliance, and post-investment management.
